Burning for This  by  Kaye Kennedy

If you like alpha males with soft centers who love hard and make love harder, then the Burning for the Bravest Series is for you! Follow 8 firemen in New York City, as they risk their lives and their hearts, in the name of love. This series is best read in order, so make sure you read book 1, Burning for More for FREE on Kindle Unlimited or buy it for only 99¢.

Why you'll love it:

  • Their chemistry is off the charts, both in and out of the bedroom. It's hot a.f. Like sizzling...
  • There's a protective alpha hero with a strong, independent heroine. Plus, she owns a brewery. How cool!
  • The slow burn, forbidden love makes it all the more exciting to speed through and see what happens
  • The author (me!) was a firefighter, so you get a realistic look during the actions scenes of what it's really like.

Protecting What's Mine  by Lucy Score

Author’s Warning: This small-town happily ever after is smokin’ hot, sweetly hilarious, deliciously suspenseful, and a one-two punch to the feels.

Why'd I love it?

  • The fire chief main character is heart-meltingly protective of the heroine. Oh, and they're neighbors.
  • The heroine is a badass trauma surgeon, former military, and rides in helicopters
  • There's a super cute dog based on a real-life dog the author had
  • It's a Lucy Score novel. Enough said.

Light  Up the Night by Weston Parker

This book kicks off the Searing Saviors Series featuring firemen in the same station. Each can be read as a stand alone.

Why'd I love it?

  • The heroine is a single mom and owns a restaurant. She'll never risk her heart again by getting involved with a man in such a dangerous profession...or will she?
  • It's hot. And I'm not just talking about the fire scenes.
  • The author does a great job of portraying the comraderie between the guys in a fire house. He makes you want to read each of their stories.
  • The hero is a former football player, which hits another one of my soft spots.

Igniting Ivy by Samantha Christy

This is the first book in the Men on Fire series which follows a group of firefighters.

Why'd I love it?

  • So many feels. It's raw, it's compelling, and it takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions. There's a reason the tagline is Real. Painful. Love.
  • It starts in Hawaii. Anyone else in need of a Hawaiian vacation?
  • I'm a sucker for some instalove.
  • He's a NYC firefighter, just like the heroes in my series

Ignite by Emma Renshaw

This is the second installment in the Burn series by Emma Renshaw and it just came out a couple of weeks ago! Get the first book here.

Why'd I love it?

  • She is his first save as a firefighter, but then she flees town and doesn't return for eleven years. Her return is temporary...but it won't be if the hero has anything to say about it.
  • He's a strong man with a soft side, only for her (that's my favorite kind of man)
  • There's the perfect amount of drama to make it believable
  • Both characters go through an evolution process, which makes them realistic

I went up to New York and Connecticut for a writing retreat and to visit family. While there, I finalized Flirting with Fame . My rescue mutt, Zeus, road tripped it with me and he got to see snow for the first time. He was super apprehensive at first, but then he got the zoomies in full force. One of the highlights was getting to spend time with my best friend, who I hadn't seen in far too long.

When I first started writing romance, I was intimidated by the idea of penning steamy sex scenes. I *almost* decided to be a fade-to-black author 😲 but I knew that the stories I wanted to write needed sex. Despite being terrified by the idea, I put my fingers to the keyboard and pushed myself to get the words out. Best. Decision. Ever. Here's why: I was raised in a conservative family. The only "sex talk" I got from my mother happened when I started dating my first boyfriend. All she said was, "Don't kiss him with your mouth open." Yeah...it was too late for that because he'd already kissed me. And my mouth was open. And I hadn't been struck down on the spot because of it... So, how did that translate as I got older? I was ashamed of my sexual side. That isn't to say that I wasn't sexually active, but I never talked about it with anyone. Sometimes, that even included my partner; I wouldn't communicate what I liked/disliked/wanted to try/etc... Not exactly healthy. I'd been labeled as a "little bit of a prude" by more than one person, which I knew was not who I authentically was (I am a Scorpio after all 😉), but the shame had kept me from arguing.
